Wes Brown's Bankruptcy

April 12th News. The 44-year-old former Manchester United player Wes Brown recently accepted an interview with media person Ben Heath on his podcast, talking about his situation of declaring bankruptcy.

"When you earn big money, I think the most crucial thing is that you need a 'right person' to guide you on what to do, isn't it? What I mean is that I didn't meet such a person. I won't mention the specific situation, but it was something that happened a long time ago and involved certain investments. At that time, it was something that many young boys were involved in, but we didn't really understand it."

"Things have happened, and now I just need to continue to deal with it. I didn't offer advice to anyone, but many players told me that they had the same experience. I won't mention names, and this doesn't necessarily mean that the same result will happen to them."

"As I said, when you were not sensible, you would think that many people were doing such things, which was okay, but this wasn't your life, you were just playing football. Many people can get themselves out of trouble, or are still solving it and other things, but I just can't do it, and there isn't much I can do."

When asked whether he thought he was profligate during his playing days, Wes Brown replied, "Absolutely not, not at all. For me, the most important thing is that I'm lucky to still be able to continue with my current job, but this isn't a good thing. I'm not the kind of person who would cry or complain about it, I just need to continue to fight and move forward."

According to reports from last year, Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs (HMRC) filed a bankruptcy application against Wes Brown on February 27th this year. On April 12th, the High Court reviewed the application and published the order to enforce Brown's bankruptcy in this week. The Sun revealed that Brown's former teammates including Rooney and Carrick all reached out to him, and Rashford also rented one of his mansions to Brown at a friendly price.

Brown signed with Manchester United when he was still a primary school student and made his debut in 1998. During his time at the Red Devils, he played more than 200 times for the club, winning two Champions League titles, as well as five Premier League titles, two FA Cup titles, and one League Cup title. His weekly salary at Manchester United once reached 50,000 pounds.

Not only that, Brown also played for teams such as Sunderland, Blackburn, and Kerala Blasters, and retired in 2018. In the 1999 Champions League final when Manchester United overcame Bayern, he was the youngest player in the Manchester United squad.
